Memorial Lutheran Church Mens’ Retreat

Part 1 - Registration

During the retreat, Dr. David Maxwell, Professor of Systematic Theology at Concordia Seminary St. Louis, will discuss some of the major heresies in the early church, such a Gnosticism, Arianism, and Nestorianism. We will discover what they were actually arguing about, why it was important to them, and how they derived their positions from the Bible. Though these heresies do not occur today in precisely the same form, their main ideas surface in contemporary arguments about Christ and the Lord's Supper and even in some Hollywood movies. We will explore these contemporary versions of the ideas as well.
