During the retreat, Dr. Brian German, Chairman of the Theology Department and Director of the Concordia Bible Institute at Concordia University, Wisconsin, will share some of the fascinating ways that Luther interpreted Psalms. Luther described Psalms as “a precious and beloved book, if for no other reason than this: it promises Christ’s death and resurrection so clearly—and pictures his kingdom and the condition and nature of all Christendom—that it might well be called a little Bible.” We will examine some of the most influential works of Luther on  the Psalms and place a particular focus on how the Psalms influenced Luther as a pastoral theologian.
